“EYES ON MOSCOW”
BERLIN INJUNCTION. ENLARGED AXIS HINTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, March 18. “Fasten your eyes on Moscow next” is the theme of German semi-official comment on the frontier meeting between Hitler and Alussolini. Although there is no confirmation, a flood of speculation reaching London from many sources endorses this German reaction to an admittedly vital meeting. The Wilhclnistrassc says that Russia belongs to the group of' Great Powers and is entitled to participate in the impending European reconstruction. The same circles envisage the extension of the Rome-Bcrlin Axis to Alo6cow. It is asserted in Berlin that, until the time comes for filling in the date ot'ther participation in the conflict, Italy will not lose an opportunity of demonstrating to the AVestern Powers that she is Germany’s ally, economically, politically, and ideologically, blit a Russian-Italian rapprochement, the primary form of which would be a nonaggression pact, would bo the first step towards a general totalitarian agreement. Failing direct illumination from the Brenner, conference, observers looked for signs from the physiognomy of the chief participants. Signor Alussolini was smiling when he escorted Hitler to the train, but the Fuehrer was pale.
