EXHIBITION VISIT

APPRECIATION expressed. PERFECT ORGANISATION. “It was an exceptionally fine outing, and when we arrived home we thought it was one of the most enjoyable that any group of children could have,” said Mr E. Bary, president of the Palmerston North Headmasters Association, in referring to-day to the visit to Wellington and the Centennial Exhibition, yesterday, of 670 children from the city and Milson schools. “On behalf of tho headmasters of the schools concerned I would like to say how vary pleased we all were with the organisation not only by the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) at this end but also by the officials of the VV ellington Education Board and of the Exhibition,” he proceeded. “The detail of the organisation was perfect and the whole day went off without one hitch. We appreciate very much what the Mayor did in making the trip possible, and also the very fine organisation covering the whole of the day. Tho train arrived in Wellington at 9 a.in. and tranicars wore waiting to take the children to the old Newtown School, where each was given a hot drink and a bun served with a hag lunch for attention later. Tramcars were used again for transport to tho Exhibition, where the children , were divided into groups of ten, each under the control of a teacher, and escorted round the Exhibition. This proved supremely enjoyable to the children, who made the most of their opportunity. At 5 p.m. they were reassembled and taken hack to v the Newtown School where a hot dinner was served. _ The train departed at 8 p.m.. to arrive in Palmerston at 10.45 p.m. There was no accident or occurrence of any kind to mar the pleasure of the occasion. A further group of children, from secondary schools in the city, travelled to the Exhibition to-day, 350 pupils in all being conveyed.
