MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

A SHORT SITTING. The fortnightly sitting of the Magwas held yesterday, Mr R. M. Watson, S.M., presiding. W. J. Knox, farmer, of Kimbolton, was fined 30s, with costs 12s, on a charge of driving without due care and attention on the FeildingBunnythorpe main highway. Sergeant Turner, who prosecuted, said that defendant crashed into the railway fence at the Nanncstnd’s Line intersection when he saw a ear coming out of Nannestad’s Line driven by Mr W. T. Maxwell. Defendant, who pleaded guilty by letter, said that lie did not know there was an intersection there, and he had chosen to swerve into the fence rather than hit the other ear.
