NEAV YEAR PAIRS. POST-SECTION PLAY. The Manawatu Bowling Centre’s New Tear pairs tournament was continued to-day, when the first round of post-section play was decided on the Manawatu and Hokowlntu greens, both of which were in excellent order and inclined to he fast. 'The weather was fine and warm. 'The Tailiape pair, Kirker and Fleming, who were undefeated in section p.a.v, went out in the first round to Wiilianison and Tingey (Feilding), being unable to get the strength of the green. _ Detailed results arc: HOKOWUITU GREEN. Continuing to carry all before them, the formidable Hataitai four skipped by L. M. Naylor won tlie final of the AA'ellington Bowling Centre’s Christmas fours tournament on Saturday. The Lyall Bay four skipped by J. B. Pieid was runner-up, and J. R. Smith (Kelburn) beat H. P. Pcry (Thorndon) in the game between the unsuccessful semi-finalists for third and fourth places.
