FIRM TONE RULES. Only a small volume of business was transacted on the Sydney Stock Exchange, which reopened to-day. Quotations were generally firm. Broken Hill Proprietary, whoso last sale last year was at 79s 3d, reached a record high level of 81s. To-day’s sales included: —Woolworths, Ltd., £1 2s; Broken Hill Pty., £4 Is; Sargcants, £1 9s; Larut Tin, 8s lOd; Colonial Sugar. £49 12s 6d; Mount Morgan, 8s 8d; Mount Lyoll, £1 10s l|d: Morts Dock, 17s 6d; A.C. Industries, £1 19s 3d; Emperor Mines, 14s 9d; Zinc Corporation,- £4 6s 6d; Commercial Bank of Sydney, £lB 11s. Morning sales included: Australian Consolidated Industries, 395; Broken Hill Pty., 79s 6d; David Jones, 33s 9d; Dunlop-Perdriau Rubber. 18s 6d; Howard Smith- 23s 4id.
