SERIOUS SHORTAGES.
PRODUCTION IN SPAIN. MADRID, Nov. 1. Senor Suner, president of the Falangc Political Council, in a broadcast said “hidden enemies” were sabotaging; the Government’s efforts bv means of hoarding and profiteering. He appealed to the Falange Party to assist the Government to combat these elements, declaring that the party itself •would welcome a purification m its own ranks. The Government intended to assume control of the country’s food with the object of assisting the poorer classes. The civil war had resulted in serious shortages in national production, especially of wheat, sugar, and olive oil. Imports to date had not bridged the large gaps.
