MAORI SUPPORT.
OFFER. OF SERVICE. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 23. That the Maoris of Wanganui support the Government’s defence policy was a decision reached at a meeting of representatives of the Wanganui Tribe in the Native Land Court. The following resolution was unanimously carried and forwarded to the Minister of Defence by Mr H. T. Ratana, M.P.
“That the Wanganui Tribe fully supports the Government’s defence policy in the present crisis, and offers wholeheartedly the _ services of its people for active service, and strongly urges that all Maoris serve in a separate, unit.”
