The one hundredth anniversary of the invention of the first bicycle propelled by pedals will be commemorated in Scpteinlior by the unveiling of plaque on the wall of the smitliv in the village of Courthill. Dumfrieshire, Scotland, where a blacksmith, Kirkpatrick MacMillan, made the machine. Tt is estimated by the Britislr Cyclemakers’ Union that, in the world today there are 61 000 000 descendants of 'this first bicycle.
