(from Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, July 29. The Bulls Town Board lias already led the way in alfores!alion mailers in the township, as is shown by'the plantations on the Recreation Grounds and Domain, hut in response to a circular Irom the Minister of Internal Affairs a special effort is being made, to observe Arbor Day in a lining manner on Wednesday. 'The chairman ot the Town Board (Air J. K. Walker) and the headmaster of Bulls School (Air J. Kyles) have taken the matter up enthusiastically, and settlers have already donated 800 trees, the school also supplying 200 kowhais, which will be planted around the tennis courts and in the native bush. Twenty special trees have been obtained for senior pupils, who will be allotted one each to plant and care for. AJessrs Stevens Bros, have offered to take charge of the work of planting the fancy trees, and all holes have been dug in readiness. School children will march to the Domain and will ho addressed by Air K. W. Dalrymplc. Despite wretched weather conditions, twenty young men attended a meeting in Bulls to hear Captain Bary of the Defence Department, speak on national defence. Air J. 10. Walker, chairman of tlie 'Town Board, presided. Captain Barv said that to form a unit of the AJunawatu .Mounted Hides in Bulls 32 would need to join up. A training centre would be located here, with three sections, one a motorcycle section, and the troop would be supplied with the latest guns, rifles, etc. At the conclusion 17 joined up.
