ST. PETER’S CHURCH

DAY OF GIVING. There was • a large attendance at the service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Terrace End, yesterday morning, when the Bishop of AVaicpu (Rt. Rev. G. V. Gerrard) preached. The Bishop gave an inspiring address on tlic meaning and duty of churchmanship. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward, of All Saints’, preached at the evening service. The words ol David. “I will not offer unto the Lord that which cost me nothing.” were taken l>y Canon AYood ward for the text of his sermon. He stated that it was in St. Peter’s Church in 1003, when a curate of All Saints’ Church, that he had preached his first seryion in New Zealand. At that time St. Peter’s was part of All Saints’ parish. The attendance at this service was also very good.

A esterday was observed as 'the parishioners’ annual day of giving.
