FOUR OTHER MISHAPS.

TWO IN HOSPITAL. Four other mishaps occurred during the week-end, and in consequence of these two people wero admitted to hospital. Mr Reginald 13. Godwin, aged 61, of Frederick Street, was crossing that street at the Fitzroy Street intersection at 6.20 p.m. on Saturday when lie was struck by a car driven by Mr Simmons, of Wellington. He suffered a broken right Jeg and probably internal injuries. Mrs Gladys Woodham, of Linton Street, was riding a cycle at the intersection of Broadway and Princess Street on Saturday afternoon when a collision occurred with a motor-cyclist, Mr David K. Herd, of Cuba Street, who received a cut over the eye. Mrs Woodham was admitted to hospital suffering from cuts and abrasions to tho face, but a small child sitting in a carrier over the rear wheel of her cycle was thrown clear and escaped uninjured. CAMS STRIKE POLE. Driven by Mr Joseph J. Fitzgerald, of Campbell Street, a car collided with the rear of a stationary vehicle in Waldcgrave Street in tho early hours of yesterday morning, and then glanced off into a street pole. Both cars were extensively damaged, but apart from minor abrasions, Mr Fitzgerald and his two passengers were not hurt. The side was torn out of a small car which struck a power pole in Main Street East at 3 a.m. yesterday, when endeavouring to avoid running over a dog, but the driver was not injured.
