MOSCOW, July 30. General Ivholzunov and three other high Soviet Air Force officers were killed in a crash to-day. An official statement says that General Ivholzunov and his brother officers were killed while fulfilling their duties. Many army officers, including M. Voroshilov (Defence Commissar) and his aides signed a statement paying a tribute io the dead men. Observers express the opinion that this holies the stories of a new purge | recently published in tho foreign Press, as the statement contains the names of several men alleged to have been removed from command. General Kbnlzunov and the other officers, including Major Cherkassov, who is a bombing expert, are believed to have died during Outer-Mongol border fighting. They will be given an elaborate military funeral at which .M. Voroshilov will be the chief mounil Reports that, General Slitern (commander of the first special Far Eastern Army) has been removed are dispelled by his signature to the statement paying a tribute to the dead fliers.
