CRUTCHING SALE.
KEEN BIDDING IN NAPIER. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, July 28. Prices were firm on recent quotations at the winter sale of crulehings ( and oddments of wool held in Napier this afternoon. A largo and representative bench of buyers attended and spirited bidding was experienced throughout. Some 3200 bales wero offered, flic majority being sold under the hammer. Buying was well distributed among Aus tralia, Bradford and the Continent, New Zealand representatives were, comparatively quiet. The hulk of the crutchings was rather shorter and a shade finer than at last year’s clearing sale, but the general condition was much the same. A few lines of fleece also sold well; in some cases jiric.es were 2d to 3d. higher than at the close of the last selling season. The range of prices is:—
