MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of the Feilding R.S.A. was held on Thursday, Mr Bruce McLeod, presiding. In connection with the appeal by the Auckland 11.8. A. for a donation to a fund to erect a cottage ns a memorial to the late General Sir George Richardson, the committee made a grant of two guineas. Particulars were received from headquarters, regarding the issue of a meritorious service medal to exservicemen who have served 21 years with tho colours in a regular unit, with rank of sergeant or above. The committee reviewed the position as far as it affected the local members, and' agreed to make investigations as to whether it would apply to any of its members
A communication was also received from headquarters regarding the British Empire Club, to which the Dominion president, lion. \V. ferry, M.L.G., had been nominated an overseas member to represent the ICS.A In this connection any member of the New Zealand ICS.A. proceeding to England is entitled to ono month’s honorary membership of the club whilst in England. Matters in connection with the visit in 1940, of the Australian contingent were discussed, headquarters acknowledging with pleasure the intimation from the committee that the Folding Association would co-operate in every way, and that it also had notified the Palmerston North branch that it would ho pleased to assist in the entertainment of the visitors to the Manawatu.
The president announced that steps would have to be taken towards the collection of the 21s levy which general headquarters had decided to make on all members towards the entertainment fund.
It was decided to hold a second ladies’ evening at a date to he arranged, and a suh-commitee comprising Messrs Tate, Allen and Jewel) was set up to make full arrangements.
