COLYTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLVTOX, July 23. A wedding of widespread interest was celebrated at: St. Andrew’s Church, C’olyton, on Saturday, July 15, when Thelma Jean, second daughter of Air and Mrs A. Fuia-ton, was married to William Harry, eldest son of Air and Mrs H. K. llocken. Bright sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows lent a pleasing note of harmony to the prolusion of hydrangeas and camellias, which in blending shades ol pink provided a perfect setting. Yen. Archdeacon Petrie performed the ceremony, .Mrs T. A. Smith presiding at the organ. Walking down the aisle escorted by her lather, the bride presented a picture of charm in a gown of pearl satin. Cut on slim-fitting lines, I lie sleeves were shirred lo the elbow, and pulled at the shoulder. A regal touch was added by the upstanding collar fastened with a spray of orange blossom, while a beautiful veil worn over the face was studded with dainty sprays of bicssoni, and fell in lilniy folds lo form a second train, being carried by the two Mower girls. Cream satin shoes and a shower bouquet of cream and gold chrysanthemums, with berries and trailing asparagus lorn, completed the bride's toilet. The bridesmaids were similarly attired in frocks of shot blue taffeta, with full skirls and shirred bodices and boleros. They carried mull's to tone, on which were sprays of asparagus fern and berries. Veils of pale blue net were worn, caught to the head by bandeaux of tiny pink flowers. The bridesmaid* were Misses Aisia (chief) and Deva Funston, Matos of the bride, aim All.-.- Hn/.ei llocken. sister of the bridegroom. Beverley, fhe bride’s sister, and liurhara Simpson, niece of the groom, were (lower girls dressed in pink laflcla. lashioned upon ihe same style as the bride-maids. The duties of host man were carried out by Mr X. llocken. Messrs R. Burges* and If. Fmieion acted as groomsmen. Messrs S. llocken and X. Pearce were ushers at the church. Little Brian Simpson. presented the bride with a salver horseshoe. The reception followed at l-eilding, where about 60 guests were received by Airs A. I'iin-.-Ton, attired in a Pel bine frock with bat and accessories to tone, her pc.-y being in autumn tints. Airs H. E. Ifoeken. who assisted, chose a model frock featuring black and white with a black hat; nhc carried a scarlet posy. The bride appeared for travelling in a smart suit of angora tweed with matching accessories. She carried a brown fur coat. Tbe bouquets, sprays,‘and muffs were made and presented by Miss Hazel llocken. Air and All's V. Hoeken's future borne will be “Roscmere.” Colyton.
