HOR 0 WHEN UA CLUI3. LEVIN, July 27. Reviewing the activities of the Horowheuua Jersey Breeders’ Club during the past year, the president, Dir 11. J. Lancaster, said at the annual meeting that one very successful field day was held at Dlv and Dlrs It. TV. Evans’s farm. The classification scheme was advocated by Dir Lancaster, who urged members to avail themselves ot this and herd-testing. The balance sheet disclosed that the year began with a. credit of £3 IBs 7d and ended with a credit of £5 2s 7d. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Dir R. L. Horn; president, Mr H. J. Lancaster; vice-presidents. Messrs R. W. Evans, T. I>. .Parsons and J. G. Horn; committee, Messrs 13 R. Robinson. A. Horn, R- S. Mitchell, A. Hardham, G. O’Sullivan, N. Levan, J. G. Horn, A. Hudson, J. H. Rolston, J. H. Taylor, L. H. Port. R. J. Rolston. and G. I. Francis; secretary, Mr J. A. Goodwin; auditor. Dir W. Small]. Dlessrs Dili. Gordon (Levin) and T. L. Horn were elected meml>ers of the club. A donation of £1 Is was made to the Horowheuua Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Club and Dir Lancaster was appointed delegate. It was decided 1o suggest to Hie Horowheuua A. and V. Association that a. new class for junior yearling heifers he included in the next schedule. Mr A. Hudson’s recommendation that there he two classes instead oF one for the junior breeding team, one for three yearlings, and one for three calves was agreed to, and the sponsor offered a third prize of 10s each lor flic two classes.
The usual donation of pvizc money for the Jersey section of the show was approved. . It was decided to hold two held day fixtures, .
