"With ;i speedy thaw, •much water lies on tlie flat. Trains and trams are all running. The north train was subject to delays at Alihiwaka. The main south road is blocked at Pukerau, which will prevent the big motor traffic expected for the ltanfurly Shield game. The roof of the Iron and Steel Co.’s premises at Burnside has collapsed on to the plant, the stock damage being several hundreds. At the Drill Hall the peaked roof has been flattened by the snow, the weight throwing one wall out of plumb.
