ST. ANDREW’S GUILD.

MONTHLY SOCIAL. Autumn-tinted chrysanthemums and trailing ferns attractively decorated the stage of St. Andrew’s Memorial Hall, yesterday afternoon, when the Ladies’ Guild held their monthly gathering. The tables were gay with a variety of flowers and foliage. All’s ill. Aitehison presided and Aresdames G. AA’liitc and J. Alitchell welcomed members at the door. Mrs R. C. Donald accompanied the opening hymn and Rev. J. Hubbard led the members in prayer. The president welcomed old and new friends, especially those who were present for the first time, and an old member, Afrs Vernon, of Auckland, Afiss Afarjorie Afillar and Airs C. Rowley contributed recitations which were appreciated. Afternoon tea was served by Alesdames G- Forbes, J. Marshall, K. Dempsey, R. Inkpen, Cooper and Aliss A. Collins. A very interesting travel talk was given by Air .T. C. Young, who touched on a number of unusual aspects of his visit to England and Scotland. Afrs Rowley. conveyed, a vote of thanks to Mr Young for his talk, and Airs Aitehison thanked the entertainers and hostesses.
