WORKMAN KILLED.
ACCIDENT ON WHARF. Per Press Assocviation. CHRISTCHURCH, March 30. When the hook used for drawing a rake of trucks on the wharf at Lyttelton slipped this morning it struck Clarence Harold Jackson, aged 33, married, a severe blow on the chest, inflicting internal injuries from which he later died in hospital. Jackson was standing near the rake of trucks while the Fordsdale was being unloaded.
The hook also struck T. Bowling on the leg. He received medical attention at the casualty ward.
