SHIP MASTERS’ AWARD.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 28. Important provisions covering hours and wages are contained in the New Zealand ship masters’ and officers’ (coastal shipping companies) award, issued by the Arbitration Court. \\ ltli tlie exception of wages, and overtime, the award embodies, with minor alterations agreed to at hearing, the recommendation arrived at by the assessors in conciliation. In relation to wages the award is deemed to have come into force on February 17 last, but all the other conditions became effective yesterday. The award will be in force until March 27. 1941.
