DISTRIBUTION OF STAKES.
AVANGANUI OWNER LEADS,
Through the successes of Submission (twice) and Entail, tho Wanganui ownerbreeder, Air G. M. Currie, easily lopped the list of winning owners, these three horses earning him £730 in stakes, towards which Submission alone contributed £415. Next came the Hawke’s Bay sportsman, Aft* T. 11. Lowry, with a total of £2BO and tho Awapuni Gold Cup, valued at £IOO, making a total of £3BO, and Race Call’s two wins brought his Taihape owner, Airs M. Casey, £350. Galtccmore’s success earned Air JO’Brien £245, and other stakes were distributed as follow: —Mrs J. N. and Air T. C. Lowry £215, Mr T. A. Duncan £2lO, AJr.J. W. Jxiwe £IBO, Mr E. J. George, the Trentharn trainoi. winning with Galloemore, Pearl of Asia and Trebor, and W. ltayner were the most successful mentors at the' meeting. George continued his good run, having led in a total of fourteen winners at the Rangitikei, Trenthain and Manawatu meetings. Raynor had three important successes, Entail taking tho Tamatcte Handicap and Submission the Cloverlea Nursery and Sires’ Produce Stakes. L. E. George (ilawera) had a double success with Race Cull, J. W. Lowe (Trentharn) had two winners in Sunee and Yours Truly, and Airs A. \V. McDonald (Awapuni) two with Beaupartir and Sudan. Single successes were credited (o J. J. Waller (Awapuni), L. Butler (Inglewood), L. Knapp (Awapuni), and L. G. Alorris (Awapuni). Awapuni stables were thus represented by five winners at the meeting. Piloting two winners, W. J. Broughton maintained his position as the Dominion’s leading horseman this season. Others to salute tho judge twice were W. Jenkins and IT. N. Wiggins. Single winners were ridden by A. Lord, 11. J, Callahan, W. J. AlcDoweil, G. R. Tattersall, AL Caddy, P. Burgos, B. 11. Morris L. 11. Clifford, W. J. Alttdford and S. Anderson.
