WEDDING.

james—McDonald. Several unusual and attractive features marked Lhe decorative scheme chosen by Betty Beatrice, younger daughter of Mr and Airs J. T. McDonald, of Carroll Street, for her wedding, this afternoon, to George Hedley, younger son of Airs and the late ■Mr 11. T. James, of Dannevirke. The ceremony was performed by Canon G. Y. Woodward at All Saints’ Church, Mr J. Holmes Runnicles being at the organ. The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride with blue hydrangeas and plumbago, and lemon broom and dahlias, posies tied with ribbon marking the reserved pews. The bride's lovely gown was of ciel blue and silver tinsel suede, with a slightly trained circular skirt. The close-fitting bodice had a heart-shaped neckline and was niched down the front, the long, close-fitting sleeves being pointed over the hands and fastened with blue buttons and loops. Her three-quarter length veil of blue cut tulle was held in place with a topknot of blue delphiniums and white roses, and she wore silver sandals and carried a shower bouquet, of delphiniums and white roses tied with silver ribbon. The hride was escorted by her lather and Followed hv Aliss Joan AlcDonald as bridesmaid and Airs R. AY. Stubbs ns matron of honour. The attendants’ frocks were of lioneycoloured ehifTon over lemon taffeta, with full gored skirts, the bodices being niched in front and buttoned down the hack, and the short sleeves being puffed over stiffened net. The necks were V-slmped in front, and the waists were encircled by sell-belts, each finishing in a sniail bow at the back. They wore short gold veils with bandeaux of cream flowers, gold shoes and long white gloves, and carried delightlul fans of tulle and flowers with long streamers of gladioli heads. Air R. Higgins carried out the duties of best man, Air R. Fnrquharson, of Fcilding. was groomsman, and Messrs AV. Millar and R. AV. Stubbs were the ushers. Alter the wedding a reception was licit! at the Roseo tearooms, the decorations being earned out in asters, dahlias and gladioli in shades of lemon and blue. Airs AlcDonald received the guests wearing a smart frock of apple check finger-print crepe, trimmed with niching on the bodice and cream relief at the neck, and having a matching odge-to-edge coat. Her veil-trimmed hat and accessories were of dark brown. Airs James, mother of the bridegroom, wore Bengal brown sheer crei>e with quilting on the bodice and diamante clasp, the skirt being pleated. and matching hat. Air L. S. Specehlcy proposed the loyal toast and Mr A. AV. Thompson the health of the hride and bridegroom. AY lion the bride left for her honeymoon, which is to he spent in Australia. she wore a storm blue crepe frock wit.li the bodice gathered into two crystal clasps at the shoulder line. The square shouders were slightly niched and the sleeves were long and close-fitting. Her navy felt bat was trimmed with blue and _ petunia os-fric-li tips, and navy veil, and her shoes, hag and gloves were _ also of navy. Air and Airs James will make their home at Tiakitaliuna. Among the guests were: Air and Airs L. V. James (Dannevirke), Air and Airs AA r . AlrCormark (AVanganui), Air and Airs Edgar Harding (AA’oodville). and Airs Middleton (AVhangarci).
