MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

MOTORIST FINED. In tlic Magistrate’s Court to-day, before Mr LI. P. La wry, S.M., Frederick William Bradshaw, of Palmerston North, was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a motoroar. Senior-Sergeant Mclntyre, who prosecuted, said that accused had been found at 4.50 p.m. yesterday “slumped over the wheel of his vehicle” in the Square. Ho was taken to the police station and examined by two doctors (one called by accused himself), who certified that he was not in a fit state to drive a ear. On behalf of accused, Mr T. F. Relling entered a plea of guilty, and the Magistrate entered a conviction, imposing a fine of £lO and ordering the payment of medical expenses, £1 Is. Accused’s license was cancelled and ho was prohibited from obtaining another for 18 months. REMAND GRANTED. On a similar charge to the above James Sloan Parsons, for whom Mr A. M. Onglcy appeared, was remanded to appear on Monday. Bail was allowed in his own recognisance-of £25.
