BOXING.

MATCH FOR J. COLLINS. The former New Zealand amateur lightweight champion boxer, J. Collins, of Palmerston North, has been matched to meet P. Kelly, of Auckland, in a professional contest at Gisborne on April 20 for a purse of £45. The contest will be over ten rounds. Collins has been training hard, though ho has not fought since he boat V. Gordon, of Wanganui, last September. Kelly, some years ago, was runnerup for the New Zealand featherweight championship. Since his entry into professional fighting he has had about nine fights and has accounted for himself very well.

Two other Palmerston North lexers, both amateurs, will also be making the journey to Gisl>orne to take in the preliminaries to the Collins-Kelly contest. They are L. Parsons (welterweight) and N. Jones (featherweight).
