The eighth annual general meeting of tlic Aokaulere Miniature Rillc Ciub wan held this week, when Air L. Graven (vicepresident) presiiied. The balance-sin. et showed a sound financial position, in spite ot uniu-ual expenditure during last season. The election of officers resulted: I’atron, Mr J. Linklatcr (rc-e.ectcd); president. Mr J. A. Smith; vice-presidents. Messrs li. R. Scott, William Anderson, Al. Kristcnscn, L. Graven, W. F. Field, J. Kyle. F. N. Andrews, J. Hastings, W. It. Ilopcroft, A. H. Ferguson and AS . Gosling, junr.; secretary and treasurer, Mr N. Hopcrolt. (re-elected); club captain, Mr 1., Hastings; vice-captain, Mr A. Brill; amli tor, Mi- F. Gough (re elected) ; committee, the president, secretary, club captain. Mtwsrs J. Hargraves. K. Field. A. Grove, L. Graven, J. Casey, J. Atkinson. B. Kilsby, S. Godson, F. Smith: trophy steward, Mr J. Atkinson: ammunition steward, Mr A. Crowe, ladder card steward, Mr R. Andrews. The subscription remains as for the previous season, with the same weekly charge. After a long discussion it was agreed to change the brand of ammunition fired through tlic club rifles, and the secretary was instructed to make the necessary arrangements. The opening night was arranged for, when it is expected the club membership will he increased. Cup and saucer trophy competitions as conducted in previous years are to he continued this season,
the following members kindly making donations: Messrs J. Hargraves, J. Casey, J. Smith, P. Smith, C. luuie, R. Andrews, A. Crowe, and \V. Kelly. Further trophies for individual competition matches were given by .Messrs N. Hopcroit. J.. Craven, A. Brill, A. Mortensen, J. Hargraves, J. Smith, J. Casey and C. Lane. A vote of thanks was accorded these gentlemen. After a lively discussion, it was decided to appoint Mr J. Smith as official range officer for club shoots. Members were unanimous in their desire lo aid the range officer and to abide by his decisions. In connection with the completion of the range and suggested alterations, a small sub-committee consisting of Messrs Mitchell, Crowe. Bril! and J. Smith was set up. while arrangements for a bullet trap and further details were left in the hands of the secretary. A sub-committee was also elected to enquire into the matter of (•'nil badges, members agreeing that such badges should bo purchased by individuals. II was also decided that the dub be divided into four sections for coaching by the senior members, and by this means, is hoped to improve the standard of shooting amongst the younger members. For his efficient services throughout the past season. it was decided to grant the secretary an honorarium.
