(From Our Own Correspondent). APITI, March 18. The members of tho Anglican Clmrcli Guild met yesterday afternoon at the homo of Miss Stanley. Also present were iVlosdames C. Stanley (in the chair), S. H. White, A. It. MeXao, . H. Cowan and Miss Gilmonr Smith. Members stood in silence to the memory of the late Mrs \Y. J. Vilcs, the nmeh-loved secretary of the guild. Miss Stanley (hon. treasurer) was appointed a trustee and Mrs J. H. Cowan secretary. Church matters were discussed and a donation is to be rnatlo to the general church fund. Miss Stanley, as hostess, was thanked for her hospitality. Mrs A. Kirk, of Walpawa. is tho guest of Mr and Mrs J. Jensen. Mm Thompson, of Dunedin, is visiting her daughter. Mrs S. F. Morris, of the school house. The School inspectors, Messrs Bowden and Merrington, were at the Dietriet High School yesterday. Mr and Mrs J. D. Kilgour, of Table Flat, are staying in Wellington. TABLE FLAT. Tbo annual meeting of the Women's Institute was held on Thursday afternoon. Mrs Barnicoat (Kimbolton), of tbe North Wellington Federation and of the Dominion executive, was present. Miss R. Eliot was in the chair and thanked her committee and members for their support and willing co-operation at all times. The report and balance-sheet were presented, the latter showing a satisfactory position. Mr Pettigrew was ap| >oin ied auditor. Mrs Barnicoat conducted the election of oflioers, which resulted as follows: —Miss Eliot (president, re-elected), Mesdames H. Jensen, E. Miller, Pettigrew, D. Hogan, Misses A. Kearney, M. Pettigrew, and P. Hogan. Mrs Barnicoat spoke on institute matters and on the aims and objects of (heir valuable contribution to country life. Competition results were as follow : —Coloured embroidery, Miss Pettigrew I, Miss Eliot, 2, Miss Kearney 3: plain scones, Mrs Hogan 1, Mrs Eliot 2, Miss Kearney 3; collection of dahlias. Mrs Hogan 1, Mrs 11. Jensen 2, Mrs E. Miller 3; champion aster, Mrs Jensen 1, Miss Hogan 2, Mrs Pettigrew 3; three asters. Miss Hogan 1. Mrs Hogan 2 and 3; champion dahlia. Mrs Jensen 1; garden circle bloom, Mrs J. D. Kilgour 1. Mrs H. .Tensen 2, Mrs Hogan 3. Mrs Barnicoat judged tho exhibits.
