Semple stated that defendant had overtaken and passed a ear with a horse-box trailer, on the crest, of the steep lull on the Ashhurst side of the bridge over the Manawatu River, near the Gorge. Witness had parked his ear 75 mice* from the" top of the hilt along Hie flat towards Ashhurst, and it was invisible from a distance of 100 paces down the Counsel said that defendant had followed the trailer all through the Gorge and when he was just behind it. on the hill the motor vehicle towing it appeared likelv to stop or change gear. He pulled out to pass it and could see for half-a-milc ahead towards Asliliurst.
