PERSONAL.
Tho Governor-General and Lady Galway leave Auckland to-day to visit several centres in the Waikato and Thames Valley. They will lie entertained at Morrinsville and at Te Arolia, where they will sjiond the night. To-morrow they will visit Paeroa, Waihi, and Thames, returning to Auckland the same evening. Lord Dormer, who was recently appointed aide-de-camp to the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, is a passenger from London by the Rangitiki, which is due in New Zealand on February 10.
Mr B. E. Keillcr, of Fitzhcrbort, left yesterday on a trip to Sydney. From 87 applicants, Mr J. F. Fames has been appointed town clerk of Masterton. For the past 16 months Mr Fames has been town clerk of Thames.
Captain H. M. Rusliworth, formerly M.P. for the Bay of Islands, who recently underwent an operation and had a log amputated, is now making good progress towards recovery.
