DEFAULTER FOR SYDNEY. Defaulter is definitely to have no more racing in the Dominion prior to his departure for Australia. This statement was made at Trentham by his owner, Mr 11. D. Greenwood, who also announced that the Defoe colt would be leaving for Sydney about the middle of next month, though he will not be racing there till March.
Defaulter’s first start in Sydney will be in the w.f.a. Chipping Norton Slakes at Warwick Farm, lie is not engaged in the A.J.p. St. Leger Stakes, but ho will contest the w.f.a. events at the A.J.C. autumn meeting at Randwick at Easter. Those races will complete his three-year-old season. L. J. Ellis, who is to ride Defaulter in Sydney, leaves for Australia earlier on February 5. Ellis has accepted (he mount on Disdain in her Melbourne engagements.
Defaulter in : 21 starts, has won 16 races and been twice in a minor place, earning in 6takes £7315, of which £4805 has been secured this season.
