Received January 21, 2.10 p.m. LERIDA, Jan. 20. With the Aragonese. Navarrese and Moroccan armies pounding the Loyalists’ first defensive line into fragments, General Franco has driven the Loyalists on to the second line.

The Loyalists had completed two major lines of fortifications, the first from Tora, Lerida Province, to the coast at Villanueva, and the second from Solsona to Manresa. and thence to the sea, following the River Llobregat.
