RETURN TO CITY.
DR. C. P. McMEEKAN
After an absence of two and a-half years there returned to Palmerston North this morning Dr. Campbell P. McMeekan, of Massey College. During his absence from New Zealand, Dr. McMeekan has been associated with the Animal Research Institute, University of Cambridge, headed by Dr. John Hammond, F.R-S. At the termination of his research work at Cambridge, Dr. McMeekan made an extensive tour of Europe and subsequently visited Argentina for two months in an advisory capacity on meat production problems at the invitation of the Government of that country. Subsequently Dr. McMeekan travelled through the' United States, where he addressed the American Society of Animal Production at its annual congress at Chicago, and also accepted invitations to lecture at the Universities of Missouri, Ames, lowa, and California. On his arrival at 302 Ruahine Street. Dr. McMeekan was welcomed home at an informal gathering by a number of his associates in field work in Palmerston North, when the season’s greetings were exchanged, and a commemorative presentation was made on their behalf by Mr B. E. Keiller and Professor W. Riddet.
