Cabinet has selected Mr F. B. Dwyer, accountant of the Internal Affairs Department, to -proceed to England to attend the Imperial Defence College for 12 months.

Mr H. M. Rushworth, formerly member of Parliament for Bay of Islands, who is a patient in a private hospital in Auckland following the amputation of a leg, is making a good recovery. /

Mr J. Denford, secretary-treasurer of the Grey Power Board, has been appointed accoan .ant to the municipal electricity department in Christchurch, from 60 applicants. Mr Denford has been secretary of the Grey Power Board for the last 14 months. Rev. L. J. Boulton Smith, minister of the Vivian Street Baptist Church, Wellington, has accepted a call to the Oxford Terrace Church, Christchurch, which is one of the largest Baptist congregations in New Zealand, states a Press Association message.

Foremrly chief surveyor and commissioner of lands in Samoa, and a member of the Native Lands and Titles Court, Mr G. F. K. Hufnagel-Betham has arrived in New Zealand on holiday, and will later join the Lands and Survey Department on transfer. Mr Hufnagel-Betham has been on the tiopical staff of the Administration .it Samoa since 1921.

Piercy, Bourke Street, who war a student recently at the Palmerston North-High School, will be pleased to hear that he has been successful in gaining his final examination for accountant and auditor: He has a position in the Government Audit Department, Wellington..
