The Italian Embassy, referring to a report of an attempt on Signor Mussolini’s life, says it is unaware of any such story, and would certainly have been informed if an assassination had been attempted. Reuter’s Rome correspondent at 7.15 p.m. stated that nothing was known of the alleged attempt on the Duce’s life.

The report, which was published in an Australian paper, is described as groundless, A further enquiry in Rome also elicited the information that there is not a word to support the story of the attempt on Signor Mussolini’-k life.
