VOLUNTARY NATIONAL SERVICE.

(British Official Wireless.) Received December 17, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 16. The debate on the proposals for organising a voluntary national service will be resumed in the House of Commons on Tuesday and a. motion has been tabled by the Government that “the House, recognising that the takin" of measures to protect the lives 'and homes of the people at all times transcends in importance all party differences, welcomes the Government’s decision to rely upon the voluntary services of the people, but recommends that the results of the scheme for a national service ’proposed by the Government, be reviewed by the House at the end of March.”
