FEILDING STOCK SALE.
GOOD SHEEP CLEARANCE. FAT CATTLE EASIER. While fat ewes found the market a shade easier compared with last week’s sale at Feilding, wetlier mutton and hoggts sold well at yesterday’s sales. In regard to store sheep there was only a very small yarding, and the market for two-tooth ewes was firm. FAT SHEER. Well forward and weighty lambs were included in the fat sheep section, and quite a number of pens was sold, prices equalling schedule rates. Fat ewes, however, mopped back a shade in value, while hoggts, of which there was a good yarding, sold well, prices advancing over last week’s values. Wether mutton experienced a good demand, and her again prices im proved slightly Vendors participating in the sales included the following: Lambs.—On account M. STORE SHEER. A fairly large pen of 2th ewes made 27s 6d, while another pen on account ills E. Bray (Colyton) made 26s Id; 20 stoic sheep on account L. Brcnmer made 6s 9d. A. K. Simpson sold a pen of 49 owes and 43 lambs at lbs. Two ewes with lambs at foot made .6s 6d. DAIRY CATTLE . Quotations : —Yearling Jersey heifers £2 ; springing heifers, £5 15s, £6 2s 6d; heifer in-milk, £5 7s 6d. STORE CATTLE. There was a good yarding of boner cows, and the market was firm at late rates. Quotations: Cows, £2 2s 6d, £2 7s, £3 Is, £3 12s 6d, £3 13s, £3 15s, £3 16s, £3 17s, £3 17s 6d, £4, £4 2 S 6d, £4 10s,' £4 14s, £4 17s 6d, £5 10s; empty boilers, £3 ss; Shorthorn lieifcrs and calves, £5. STATION CATTLE. A pen of 16 Hereford cross steel's realised £8 9s, this being the best price paid for run cattle offered in fairly good numbers. The market was not very free, and prices showed little variation itt last week’s rates. C. G. C. .Dormer sold a pen of 16 P.A. cows and cubes at £7 Is. A pen of yearling P.A. steers, 22 in numler, made" £6 10s. W. H. Humphries's six P.A. steers made £7 9s, while 25 twoyear steers sold at £7. A pen of 30 P.A. cows on account W. M. Stewart realised £5 17s, while a pen of P.A. heifers on the same account made £5 16s. P A. steers (48) made £6 15s, and 8 steers £7 7s and 10 steers £6 19s. FAT CATTLE.
The fat cattle section included lines of well-bred station cattle, but the market was easier compared with last week. A pen of 6 P.A. cows on account J. ISaugli made £7 10s. £8 10s, £8 12s 6d. L. A. J. Henson realised £7 10s (2). £7 6s (1), and £6 (6) for a pen of nine heifers, and £7 5s for 2 cows. Mrs D’Ath realised £7 (3) and £7 15s (2) for a pen of five heifers. A. M. Ruthledge's three cows made £6 15s, £7 2s 6d. £7 7s 6d. Quotations: lleifers £4 10s, £7 15s; cows, £4 12s 6d, £4 ss; vealers £1 17s od, £2 7s 6d.
AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT
Thfe Live Stock Auctioneers report on the Fcilding sale as follows: A medium yarding of station cattle came forward, there being no appreciable ditlercnec in the market from last week. A large entry of fat cattle met with a slower sale. There was a largo yarding of fat sheep, consisting mainly of .wethers, the market being firm throughout, and practically a total clearance resulted. A very small entry of store sheep came forward, little interest being taken in the offering. The following are the quotations:— ~ Fat lambs. 18s 4d 21s 9d 22s Id 22s 4d to 24s 2d ; fat wethers 18s 18s 6d 19s Id, 19s 4d 19s lOd, 20s, 20s lid to 21s Id; fat owes, 8s 7d. 9s lid. 10s. 10s 3d, 10s 9d. 11s 9d to 12s'Id; ewes.and lambs, (all counted), 15s; 2th. ewes, 26s Id to 27s Bd.
