WEDDING.
BUSSAU—LAWSON
On Thursday, December 15, at 6.45 p.m., in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Queen Street, Palmerston North, Carmen, the elder daughter of Mrs and Mr Jas. Alexandre Lawson, was united in marriage to Alton James Bussau, son of the late Adolf and Lena Bussau, of Melbourne, and nephew of Mr Low Bussau, Agent-General in London for the Victorian Government.
The bride, who was charmingly gowned in deep cream figured satin, cut on classical lines, which caried a court train, and wearing the customary veil with a cluster of cream roses holding the veil in position, was attended by her younger sister as bridesmaid. The latter was gowned in mauve crepe satin relieved with royal purple velvet. Mr Ivan White acted as best man, whilst little Shirley ; Rutter, of Longburn, and Rrien Burton were flow'd' girl and page boy respectively. Pastor H. J. Moulds (the president of the North New Zealand Conference of Seventh Day Adventists) and a personal friend of the bride’s parents, officiated. The reception was held in the Jade Tearooms, where approximately fifty i guests welcomed the bridal couple. The usual toasts were honoured, the | loyal toast being proposed by Mr G. H. ! Greenaway (principal of the Longburn College). During the evening cablegrams were received and read from i the following:—Dr R. J. Coleman, At.A., Dip. Ed., cousin of the bridegroom, of Melbourne; Dr and Airs W. Nolan, of Papua, sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom : Air T. Chas. Lawson, principal AV.A.Af. College, Perth, AVest Australia, uncle of the bride, also Mr W. B. Dawes, of Sydney, and the employees of the bridegroom from Alelbourne, and a number (of others.
Amongst the guests were noticed Air and Airs A. -T. Furness, Air and Airs L. Burton. Air and Mrs T. Rutter (Sydney), Air O. AY. Knight (Afelbourne), Aliss Af. Dawkins (Sydney). Aliss Behrens (Alelbourne), Air and Mrs AA’illiams, Air and Airs R. Brown and Air and Airs Lansdown (Hamilton). Air Greenaway sang at the Church and Miss Behrens officiated V the organ. The bridal couple will spend about' ten days touring the North Island after w'hich they will leave Auckland for Alelbourne, where they will reside.
