THIRD GRADE.

Taking first use of Hie wicket in their third grade match against Phoenix on the High School ground, Gordon put on 08 runs • (Ryan 25. Mutch 12; Connell 6 for 19). to which Phoenix replied with 91 (Connell 23, Taylor 22; Ryan, 3 for 9). Gordon made 74 in their second strike (Ryan 10, Whitehead G; Connell, 6 for 26). Phoenix won by 6 wickets and 26 runs, having compiled 77 in their second effort (Marriott 19, Black 16, Meder 15; Clapcott. 2 for 9). Technical heat Kia Ora in a further match of the third grade series on the Technical School ground. Opening with an innings of 142 runs (AA’estoti 26 Milne 23; Barclay 6 for 58) Technical gained a safe lead. Kia Ora replied with 25 (Barclay 7; McConaghtv 5 for 11, AA'eston 3 for 3) and then followed on to make 45 (Barclay 26; AVright 2 for 0).
