TOURISTS ARRIVE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 18. The cruise liner Strathmore berthed early this afternoon from Brisbane, with 740 passengers, including several through travellers from London. Over 400 have planned to make trips to tourist resorts. Fifty-six left shortly after the vessel’s arrival for Waitomo on a four days’ tour, later visiting Rotorua, Wairakei, Tongariro, and Wanganui, rejoining the vessel at Wellington on Monday evening. Other parties are doing shorter trips. Tomorrow 100 will travel to Rotorua by car and approximately 200 by train. The Strathmore sails to-morrow night for Wellington.
