GAOL SENTENCE

Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Aug. 31. Described as the black sheep of a good family, with 27 previous convictions, chiefly of a similar kind, Archibald Cameron, aged 33, to-day pleaded guilty to 12 charges of obtaining money by valueless cheques at various places in the North Island. The total obtained in goods and money was £lO5 9s, which had all been used up and nothing whatever had been recovered. The sentence imposed was one year’s imprisonment on each of two charges, to be cumulative. . On the other charges he was convicted and discharged.
