Airs Carey, of Hutt Valley, was the guest of Airs T. B. Aloore, “Waimarama,” Terrace End, for the weekend. Air and Airs David. Millar. Whakarongo, and Aliss Alarjorie Alillar and Air R. Alillar, have returned home from a week’s holiday at Wellington.
Spending a holiday in Palmerston North, at' present, is Aliss Al. Goldfinch, of Wellington. Airs H. Cripps, of (“Sevenoaks,” Alasterton, who has been staying with her sister, Airs T. R. Moore, “Waimarama,” Terrace End, has returned home.
Aliss Barbara Stuart, of Opotiki, who has been appointed as assistant secretary of the Palmerston North Y.W.CiA., will take over her duties on September 5.
Mr and Airs F. Slater, of Palmerston North, leave for Wellington on Wednesday en route to Australia, where they plan to spend a six weeks’ holiday, visiting Queensland, New South' Wales and Victoria.
Alanawatu golfers would be interested to learn of the success of one of the club’s members, Aliss Al. Illston, who, playing in Sydney with the 17-year-old Aliss Crowe, of Sydney, with a 10 handicap, won the 18-holes stroke handicap, played in conjunction with the first round of the Australian women’s foursomes’ championship, with a net score of 74. Aliss Illston accompanied the Tasman Cup team to Australia as an unofficial visitor. She has been making good progress in the game in recent years.
