CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
Christ Jesus was the subject of the LessomSermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was Micah 5: 2: "Thou, Bethlehem; Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He. come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Among the citations which comprised' the lessonsermon were the following from the Bible: “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” (John 1:9,11,12) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy; “Jesus was born of Mary. Christ is the true idea voicing good, the Divine message from God to men, speaking to the human consciousness. The Christ is incorporeal, spiritual, yea, the Divine image and likeness, dspelling the illusions of the senses; the way, the truth, and the life, healing the sick and casting out evils, destroying sin, disease and death.” (p. 332)
