FERRIER’S EASY WIN.

AUSTRALIAN AAIATEUR TITLE. ADELAIDE, Aug. 25. J. Ferrier to-day easily won the final of the Australian amateur golf championship, beating . H. R. Payne, of Victoria, 8 and 6 in the 36 holes final. Ferrier is thus the first player to win the open and amateur double since 1907, when Hon. Alichael Scott achieved that distinction. The critics sa,y that Ferrier would have beaten the best overseas players on his present form. The professional championship was retained by the former title-holder, E. Cremin, of New South Wales, who, after a dour battle, beat C. Booths, also of New South Wales, 2 and 1.
