HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
MONTHLY MEETING. Mrs M. Aitehison presided over the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, held yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdames TV R. Moore, W. S. Richardson-, W. Mouldey, A. E. Mansford, IV Bennett, F. Ashworth S .J. Parkes (secretary), and Misses S. M. Banks and E Clark. Apologies for absence were received from Mestlames A. Wilson, E. L. Christian, F. J. Nathan, J. Saunders, F. Murphy and J. Barsantj. A letter was received from the Public Trust Office informing the auxiliary that £lO had been granted it by the McCarthy Trust. The secretary was directed to write in acknowledgment'. Various cases were reported on by the president. These had been investigated and clothing had been supplied. Letters of thanks had been received from recipients of parcels. The financial statement was adopted and accounts amounting to £ll 6s 9d were passed for payment. A parcel of reading matter was received from Mrs R. H. Billens for Toe H. Mrs T. R. Moore informed the members' of a broadcast appeal for reading, matter for the Porirua Mental Hospital. A discussion took place on the question of obtaining the'use of a roomfor sewing, this being held over for future consideration. The holding of a street collection was also discussed.
