SOCIAL AFTERNOON.

The Manawatu Co-operative Women’s Guild held their fortnightly meeting on Tuesday, Mrs 0. Niederer being in the chair. New members were welcomed. , Mrs Linda Bennett, it was an-

nounced, would be the delegate at the third Dominion congress, to be held in Wellington. , , Being held in the school holidays, the rest of the meeting was devoted to a social afternoon for mothers # their children. Games were enjoyed and also items contributed by Daphne Proctor, Girlie Moore, Joan l'oster and Jack Power. A “bring and buy stall brought in a good return tor the guild funds. A competition—making an animal from a piece of paper won by Mrs Kelly. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, jViesciames Bennett and Scott. j
