BRADMAN’S MISFORTUNE.
ILLNESS ON 1924 TOUR.
The misfortune which lias befallen the Australian captaiii. at so inopportune a stage of the present match recalls a previous occasion on which Bradman required medical attention at Home. At the conclusion of the Australians’ tour of England in 1934 he was stricken with acute appendicitis and, following an operation, his condition aroused much anxiety. So serious was his illness that Mrs Bradman hurriedly left Sydney for England. However, the advance .of peritonitis was successfully checked, and Bradman was able some weeks later to return to Australia.
