BRADMAN’S LEG BROKEN.

NO FURTHER PART IN MATCH. Received August 24, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 23. Mr W. H. Jeanes (manager of the Australians) has announced that Bradman has fractured a tibia (shinbone) and will not be able to play further in the Test. Mr Jeanes had earlier announced that Bradman had severely strained his right ankle and was being sent to hospital for an X-ray examination. It was then uncertain whether he would be able to bat.
