DR. CAMERON HONOURED.

PRESENTATION MADE. This morning, Dr F. Cameron, who for 16 years has been a member of the Feilding Patriotic Society, and for the past eight years has acted as chairman of the Advisory Board of the National War Fund Council, was met by members of the old Feilding Patriotic Society and representatives of the Advisory Board and presented with a gold-mounted fountain pen. Mr J. Knight, one of the original members of the local society, made the presentation, referring to the excellent

work done by Dr Cameron on behalf of the soldiers during the war period and since, in connection with the It.S.A. activities. His knowledge of the needs of the men had been of great value and all were sorry ho was leaving Feilding. Mr T. Collins referred to the intimate knowledge of cases Dr Cameron had, and conveyed his thanks for the wonderful amount of good done by their guest. Mr T. L. Seddon (Mayor) stated that Dr and Mrs Cameron had been ideal citizens and it was by their deeds, not words, that they were best known. .He wished them many years of health and happiness in the future. Mr J. J. Bryce, an early member of the committee, and Messrs W. E. Carthew and A. H. Atkinson also spoke. . Miss D. Miller (secretary) expressed her appreciation of the assistance given her by Dr Cameron in his capacity as chairman of the Advisory Board. During the meeting a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mi- J. W. Braimvcll (a foundation member of the society and an executive officer of the:Advisory Board) was passed in silence. Dr Cameron, expressed thanks for the kind remarks made concerning Mrs Cameron and himself. He considered that Feilding’s organisations had catered very well for the returned soldiers, and as far as his part was concerned it had been a labour of love.
