GIRL GUIDES.

A . very enjoyable time was spent* by six Rangers who, under the leadership of their captain, Miss I. Stewart, spent the week-end camping on Mr L. W. Millward’s property at Kairanga, the woolshed being made available as a camp site. The days wore spent very pleasantly in hiking and learning to ride. Meals were cooked outside when the weather permitted, and plenty of| hay in the woolshed made warm beds at night. Gratitude to Mr Millward for his kindness was freely expressed by the campers. /

Tlie New Zealand basketball team sailed from Sydney yesterday for Auckland. The vessel’s departure was delaj'ed five hours due to wet weather.
