(From Our Own Correspondent.) ( BUNNYTHORPE, Aug. 22. ' At a meeting of the new Flail Commit- | tee a report was submitted of the result of the canvass for funds to rebuild the hall; the amount already-' promised was £630. which was considered satisfactory; a sub-committee was sit up to arrange for j thy balance of the money, when tenders will be called for building the hall. A j letter was received from the Newbury i Ilall Committee offering their hall .free to hold any functions : i't was received with j thanks. XThe ladies’ committee reported that i the piano fund is improving as the re- j suit of functions and it is their object to | again hold a big function in Palmerston North towards the end of tho month. The Glaxo Cup euchre match between the Public Works Department and the j glaxu factory in aid of tho hall fund re- I suited in a win for glaxo. j Mr G. Suistod, of Cambridge, was a j visitor to Bunnythorpe during the week. | Mrs Stafford, of Nelson, has been visiting friends at Bunnythorpe. A meeting of the National Party branch took place on Monday evening. Mr A. T. McKenzie presided over a good attendance and reported on the meeting held in Feilding of the combined branches. It was reported that a steady increase of members had taken place since the last meeting. The checking of the roll took place and other subjects of interest fo the party and branch were considered
