KAIRANGA
(From Our Chvn Correspondent.) / KAIRANGA, June 22. The June meeting of the Kairanga Young Farmers’ Club was held - in Mr Tanner’s hall'.- There was an attendance of ■34; the total membership now stands at 50. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. Mildon and K. VObs. It was decided that the secretary send a letter of appreciation to Mr Tanner for the use of his hall. An interesting lecture was given by Mr E. P. Neilson on pig clubs. Mr Neilsen felt that a club could bo formed in the district within the near future. Mrs \V. McClelland presided Over the June meeting of 'the Women’s Institute, when there was a large attendance. A welcome was extended to Mesdames Lewis and Clark.. while apologies were received from Mesdames Bee and Leamy. The president congratulated members on the success at the group meeting, also Mesdames C. W. and 11. Tanner on their successes at the Show. Mrs 11. Turner offered to make the birthday cake and [this was received with thanks. Competitions for July are three blooms;, seniors, article from sugar bag; juniors, sugar bag oven cloth. Hostesses, Mesdames Lewis, Leamy and Mies Small. Mrs Will; of Rongotea, will give a demonstration on cake decoration. The competitions were judged by Mrs Barrington and resulted : Best blooms, Mrs 11. Turner 1, Mrs W. McClelland 2, Mrs G. Davey 3. Knitted pullover, Mrs 0. Collis 1, Mrs 11. Turner 2, Mrs U. Kilgour 3. Knitted beret, Misß L. Burmeister. Tho hostesses, Mesdames, Kilgour, Mallett and Misses J. Kilgour and G. Hyde, served afternoon tea.
